Sioux Nation Colt Justifies Support In Brocklesby
Sioux Nation supplied the first two-year-old winner of the British turf season, as Norman’s Cay (2c Sioux Nation – Dear Miriam, by Acclamation) justified favouritism in the Brocklesby Stakes.
Richard Hannon’s representative raced prominently under David Egan and was switched right with two furlongs left to race. Ridden approaching the final furlong, the Amo Racing-owned bay ran on well to lead on the line.
“He's a nice colt,” Hannon commented. “He's always found things quite easy and he's there in his coat, which a lot of mine aren't. I like the way he ran on – some horses you bring that you think are Brocklesby horses go flat out and fall in a heap. He'll get better and it looks like he wants six furlongs.”
The son of Sioux Nation was bred by Louise McLoughlin and Jack Mahler.
