Sioux Nation Colt Obliges At York
Proud Nation (2c Sioux Nation - On The Same Page, by Born To Sea) won at the second time of asking when striking at York on Sunday.
The Richard Fahey-trained two-year-old was a neck second on debut at Musselburgh in July and stepped forward from that experience to win for the first time.
Partnered by Oisin Orr, the son of Sioux Nation made all and kept on well inside the final furlong to hold off the second-placed runner by a comfortable three-quarters of a length.
Orr said of the juvenile: “I had a good draw and jumped and went forward. Proud Nation kept galloping to the line. He has plenty of ability and there's plenty to look forward to.”
Proud Nation was bred by Alexander Bloodstock.
