Sioux Nation Filly Stars At £410,000
Sioux Nation was responsible for a trio of six-figure lots at the Goffs UK Breeze-Up Sale, led by a filly from Ballybush Stables, which sold for £410,000.
Charles Shanahan, who was joined by his father Paul and Mick Flanagan, struck the winning bid and after signing the docket as MV Magnier, commented: “We just think so much of Sioux Nation and the talk from every trainer with one is so good.
“This filly hit our radar and did everything so well in her breeze. She came highly recommended from Paddy Vaughan. She’ll go into training with Simon and Ed Crisford. We’re very excited to have her.
“She’s beautiful, and as you’ll see from the price she made, a lot of other people thought the same. We didn’t expect to get her but it’s a great result. When you go back over the years, the amount of Royal Ascot winners that have come out of this sale is huge and hopefully she’ll be a Royal Ascot filly as well.”
Ballybush Stables’ bay was the second highest-priced filly of what was a record-breaking sale. Sioux Nation finished second in the sires’ table with a turnover of £970,000.
Rockfield Farm was another consignment to reap rewards with Sioux Nation, as their filly brought £175,000 from Blandford Bloodstock. Earlier that afternoon, Mocklershill sold a Sioux Nation colt to Colm Sharkey on behalf of Ciaron Maher for £150,000.
