Shes A Nation (sioux nation) Wins On Debut At The Curragh

Sioux Nation Newcomer Outclasses Rivals At The Curragh

She’s A Nation (3f Sioux Nation – Shes An Art, by Excellent Art) made a perfect start to her career when drawing clear in Friday’s mile maiden at the Curragh.

Trained by Rory Devine for owner/breeder PJ Kavanagh, the Sioux Nation filly faced 13 rivals on debut, when she was ridden prominently by Luke McAteer. Last off the bridle, she was pushed along to lead after the two-furlong pole and began to stride clear a furlong later, leading by five lengths on the line.

Devine, who was celebrating his first winner as a trainer, said: “I’m absolutely delighted. We broke her as a two-year-old and put her away, we thought she was really something special.

“Her homework was very good and coming here today we thought she had good each-way chance if nothing else. It’s great to have my first winner here.”
