Son Of Saxon Warrior Gains Deserved Win

Asmen Warrior (3g Saxon Warrior – Fair Sailing, by Docksider) built on previous promise to justify favouritism in Wednesday’s ten furlong maiden at Salisbury.

Runner-up on his first two starts of the season, Dr Richard Newland and Jamie Insole’s charge was sent off a short-priced favourite to get off the mark under Tom Marquand. Chasing the leader for much of the way, the chesnut asserted three furlongs from home and boasted a clear advantage by the final furlong. Ridden out, he went on to score by two lengths, with another four and a quarter lengths back to the third horse.

The son of Saxon Warrior is owned by Scott Turner and was bred by Airlie Stud.
