Spartan Arrow (sioux nation) Wins The Listed Prix Hampton

Son Of Sioux Nation Lands Listed Sprint

The progressive Spartan Arrow (5g Sioux Nation – Thames Pageant, by Dansili) made his first start at Stakes level a winning one, as he justified favouritism in the Listed Prix Hampton at Chantilly.

Runner-up in the Epsom Dash when last seen, Archie Watson’s charge was reunited with Hollie Doyle on Tuesday and raced prominently throughout the five-furlong sprint. Ridden approaching the two-furlong marker, he was briefly headed inside the final furlong, but battled back to beat Group 1 performer Havana Cigar by a head. The front pair finished three lengths clear of the third.

Spartan Arrow first demonstrated his talent when sold by Mocklershill at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale for 380,000gns. Now owned by Hambleton Racing and partner, the Sioux Nation gelding was bred by Pier House Stud.
