Crystal Ocean Four-Year-Old Brings £200,000 At Aintree

Crystal Ocean was responsible for the highest-priced filly at the Goffs UK Aintree Sale, where agent Jerry McGrath went to £200,000 for Patrick Turley’s debut winner She’s A Fair Maid (Crystal Ocean – Maid Of Might, by Flemensfirth).

On the sale’s only six-figure filly, Turley said: “She was just a good filly – it’s as simple as that. She did everything right, she looked well, she jumped well and she won nicely.

“This is the first Crystal Ocean I’ve had but I would definitely have another one.”

She’s A Fair Maid’s smart debut performance came in a four-year-old mares’ maiden at Monksgrange. She continued a fine start for Crystal Ocean between the flags, while under rules, the Beeches Stud sire had an impressive Listed winner at Auteuil.
