First Hurdles Win For Daughter Of Getaway

Getawhisky (6m Getaway - Whisky Rose, by Old Vic) got off the mark over hurdles with a straightforward display at Windsor on Sunday.

The Dan Skelton-trained mare had won a Carlisle bumper last season and was also fourth in Listed company at Market Rasen last January. She was making it third time lucky over flights after a promising fourth at Worcester in October.

Ridden by Harry Skelton, the daughter of Getaway was in touch with the leaders and travelled strongly before making headway from three flights out. The six-year-old led approaching the last and drew clear for a three and a quarter-length success.

Getawhisky was bred by Distillery Stud.
