Winning Start Over Hurdles For Getaway Gelding

Sinchi Roca (6g Getaway - Quri, by Gold Well) made a winning start over hurdles with a comfortable display at Wincanton on Thursday.

The gelding had readily won a Taunton bumper last February for Anthony Charlton and was second in a Listed event at Cheltenham in November on his first start for Syd Hosie.

Sinchi Roca was ridden by Callum Pritchard and the pair raced in second place before taking up the lead on the home turn. The six-year-old ran on well to defeat the odds-on favourite by two and a half lengths.

The son of Getaway was bred by D W Macauley.
