First Stakes Success For Son Of Vadamos

Klabel (6g Vadamos - Ardere, by Hidden Dragon) landed his first stakes success with victory in the Listed Christmas Handicap at Morphettville on Saturday.

The Richard and Chantelle Jolly-trained gelding had previously placed in Pattern company, including when second in the Group 2 Cirka McEwen Stakes in October, while he was landing a first win since August 2024.

Ridden by Jake Toerek, Klabel hit the front turning for home and stayed on resolutely to win by a head in a thrilling three-way finish.

Richard Jolly said: "I thought going over the line that the inside horse got us, but watching the slo-mo, we knew we were back in the game.

"It was a good win, he deserved to win a race this horse, he's been running well in Melbourne without being able to quite get there."

Klabel was bred by A R Galbraith Qc.
