First Win Over Hurdles For Promising Son Of Vadamos

Baron Noir (5g Vadamos - Scooping, by Dylan Thomas) claimed a first victory over hurdles with a cosy success at Uttoxeter on Tuesday.

The five-year-old had landed two of his three bumper starts for Alan King and had placed third in a Listed contest at Newbury in between those wins.

Baron Noir had also made a positive impression on his hurdling debut when second to the unbeaten Cristal d'Estruval (by Crystal Ocean) at Warwick last month.

Ridden by Tom Bellamy, the son of Vadamos was in touch with the leaders and came to take the lead before the final flight. The odds-on favourite stayed on strongly to win by three-quarters of a length.

Baron Noir was bred by Shane Lawlor and Mary Butterfield.
