Five New Point-to-Point Incentive Winners!
It was a busy weekend on the point-to-point field with five winners across three venues.
At Dungarvan on Saturday, the J. J. Harty-bred Broomfield Aderra (Walk In The Park) ran out a 4-length winner of the 5YO Mares Maiden for Aidan Fitzgerald. This was followed by An Buachaill Rua’s (Getaway) 15-length demolition of the 5YO Geldings Maiden for Robert Tector and breeder Maria Kavanagh. It was a sign of things to come for Walk In The Park and Getaway as later that day their sons Final Demand and Handstands claimed Grade 1 glory at Leopardstown and Sandown respectively.
Sunday’s meeting at Bellharbour also saw the first two races claimed by progeny of Coolmore sires. The Walk In The Park gelding Bud Fox won the 4YO Maiden cosily for Derek O’Connor and breeder John Lenihan, while the Gerard Coleman-bred Vanderflier (Milan) landed the 5YO Geldings Maiden for Sam Curling.
The 5YO Mares Maiden at Ballyvodock was won by Country Mouse (Kingston Hill) for owner/trainer Ian Andrew Power and breeders Declan & Denis Phelan.
