Graded Success Over Fences For Vadamos Gelding

King Of Kingsfield (7g Vadamos - Passion Planet, by Medicean) secured a first Graded success over fences when scoring comfortably at Punchestown on Wednesday.

Ridden by Jack Kennedy, the Vadamos gelding was in touch with the leaders and made headway before three fences out. He pressed the leader on landing two out and stayed on up the run-in for a two-and-a-half-length victory.

The Gordon Elliott-trained runner was leading home a one-two for Coolmore-sired runners with Birdie Or Bust (by Walk In The Park) in second.

King Of Kingsfield was continuing his excellent run over fences having landed three of his last four starts in the colours of Gigginstown. He was also Grade 1-placed as a hurdler when second in the 2023 Racing Royal Bond Novice Hurdle.

Elliott said: “Jack said he’s relaxing a lot more. He was very keen as a young horse, and Jack said ‘I think he might have won snug if he hadn’t nodded at the back of the second-last’.

“I think it was a good enough performance. As soon as the ground goes, you won’t see him until the spring. He’s three races won now over fences so we can’t complain."

The seven-year-old was bred by P Turley.
