Son Of Vadamos Readily Wins On Hurdling Debut

The Hatchet (5g Vadamos - Kelloura, by Mastercraftsman) made a successful debut over hurdles when readily winning at Perth on Wednesday.

Trained by Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore, the son of Vadamos made all under Jack Power and stayed on well to land victory by three-and-a-quarter lengths.

The Hatchet had finished second in a Tattersalls Farm maiden point-to-point for Jonathan Fogarty last December and was building on two encouraging runs for Russell and Scudamore in bumpers this spring.

Vadamos has enjoyed a fine run of form with his progeny recently, among them Australian Group 3 scorer With Your Blessing, plus dual winning chaser and Grade 1-placed King Of Kingsfield.
