Vadamos Gelding Wins Grade 3 Chase In Good Style
The Other Mozzie (6g Vadamos – Leo’s Spirit, by Fantastic Light) secured a valuable prize for connections when landing the Grade 3 handicap chase at Ayr’s Scottish Champion Hurdle fixture.
Gavin Cromwell’s charge had proven progressive over fences earlier in the season and dropped back to two miles on Saturday. Racing towards the back of a close-knit field, he began to improve from five out and led from the third last. Pushed clear from the penultimate fence, he kept on well to score by four lengths.
“He won well,” said the winning owner Jimmy Fyffe. “It was great, what a victory. I love the National Hunt and I'm just trying to get better quality horses coming through. He looks like he's one of them.”
The Other Mozzie has now won three of his six starts over fences. The son of Grange Stud sire Vadamos was bred by Christopher Maye.
