Winning Start Over Hurdles For Talented Order Of St George Mare

Future Prospect (6m Order Of St George - Mhuire Na Gale, by Norwich) made the perfect start to her hurdling career when readily striking at Naas on Friday.

The Willie Mullins-trained mare was a talented performer in bumpers last season, winning her first rules start at Fairyhouse by nine lengths before collecting black type when third in a Listed contest at the track in April.

Ridden by Paul Townend, Future Prospect was sent off a warm order to make a winning debut over hurdles and she duly romped home by nine and a half lengths.

Townend said of the Mrs John Magnier and Bronsan Racing-owned mare: “She was keen up the straight the first time but when she met the hurdles, she gave herself a chance, which she probably wasn’t doing in bumpers.

“She jumped brilliantly and it allowed me to get a little breather into her. She’s tough and hardy."

He added: “When I pulled her out she stayed going really well and I think she can improve plenty for it.”

A half-sister to smart performers Whitehotchillifili and Redhotfillypeppers, Future Prospect was bred by Margaret Treacy On His Own Stables.
