$200,000 Colt for Corniche at Fasig-Tipton July
Louis DuBois signed the ticket for a $200,000 colt by Corniche on behalf of Wesley Ward at the Fasig-Tipton July Sale.
Offered by St George Sales, the Wilbert Tan-bred is the first foal out of Nyquist mare Manaoag. That mare is a half-sister to stakes winner and Grade II placed Ribaltagaia and out of Bernardini mare Silk Assassin. Manaoag granddam is the Grade III winner and multiple Grade I-placed Super Espresso, whose five winners included dual stakes winner Eamonn.
This family also includes Group I winner T O Royal and Group II winner and Group I placed King of Rome.
Corniche was also the sire of a $160,000 colt out of Moon Rainbow purchased by JPM Bloodstock as agent for Saints or Sinners.
Offered by C&S Thoroughbreds, the Newstead Corp filly is a half-sister to two winners from three to race. Moon Rainbow herself was three-time winner and stakes placed runner whose full sister Smartyfly won the Wonder Where. She is also a full sister to the stakes placed Scarlet Flutter and half-sister to the stakes placed Butterfly Dance.
This is a family packed with blacktype. In all there are 14 stakes performers on the page, led by Horse of the Year Soaring Free.
This is the first crop for Champion 2-Year-Old Corniche, who also has two cataloged at the upcoming Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale.
