$250,000 Filly for Corniche at Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Sale
A $250,000 filly led the way for Corniche at the Fasig-Tipton New York Bred Sale when purchased by Legion Bloodstock.
The Taylor Made Sales consignee bred by The New Hill Farm had originally sold for $137,000 as a weanling last November. She is the first foal out of her stakes winning dam, who won four races overall as one of 13 winners out of Preservation Hall. That mare’s 6-year-old provided an update to the page when placing after the catalog was released.
Preservation Hall is a half-sister to Grade I winner Gold Fever and stakes winner Emanating with the trio out of Grade III winner Lead Kindly Light. Emanating produced Grade I winner Boisterous among her three winners while another half-sister produced stakes winner Allegra and the dam of Grade II winner Madone.
This is also the extended family of Grade I winner Versailles Treaty.
Corniche’s other offerings sold for $200,000, $150,000, etc. with an average of $166,250 and median of $175,000. This sale came on the heels of a Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale that saw his yearlings sell for up to $600,000.
