$700,000 Filly for Munnings at OBS April

William Werner was determined to take home a Munnings filly out of Tapping Pearl at the OBS Spring 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale when going to $700,000 to make her the third most expensive filly of the sale.

Offered by Thorostock during the second session, the filly bred by Stonestreet Stables was a $300,000 yearling purchase as well.

As to be expected from a horse hailing from Stonestreet’s program, the filly has a strong pedigree with her winning Tapit dam a half-sister to Grade I winner Drill. They are out of winning Storm Cat mare Cat Dancer, who also produced the multiple stakes placed Swall among her eight winners with one of her unraced daughters the granddam of the stakes placed Dream Seller.

This page is strong from top to bottom with her second dam’s full sister Grade II winner and Grade I-placed Magic Storm. That mare was a standout broodmare in Japan as the dam of Group I winners Satono Aladdin and Lachesis in addition to multiple Group III placed Flawless Magic.

Evergreen sire Munnings has four winners and 10 stakes performers in 2025.
