Sister Troienne Munnings Wins Ginger Brew

Sister Troienne Adds Ginger Brew Victory to Resume

It was a first stakes winner on the year for Munnings on Saturday when Sister Troienne (3f Munnings x Dyna Passer, by Lemon Drop Kid) won her fourth straight race in the Ginger Brew S. at Gulfstream Park.

Sticking to the turf in this one-mile race, Sister Troienne broke well and happily let an eager runner go to the lead as she settled just about a length and a half behind that one.

Kept under a tight hold by Mario Gutierrez, she moved up to the leader’s hip late in the backstretch before entering a duel around the turn. While it looked like second placed Laigina may stick with her, Sister Troienne clearly still had plenty left and was never asked for her best as she pulled away to a deceivingly small 1 ¾ length victory as the 1-5 favorite.

Trained by Brian Lynch for owner-breeder Woodslane Racing, Sister Troienne has now won four of five starts with her only loss coming when third on debut.

Sister Troienne is out of a half-sister to the Gr.1 winner Sadler’s Joy. A stakes placed runner herself, Dyna Passer is also a half-sister to Gr.2 winner Wolfie’s Dynaghost and the stakes placed Lunaire. This is also the family of Gr.1 winner Sabin.

Dyna Passer has a juvenile filly by Munnings to come.

Standing for $45,000 in 2026, Munnings was the sire of eight stakes winners and 29 stakes performers in 2025 with 11 of those placing at the graded stakes level.
