British Winner for Tiz The Law
It was a debut victory for Tiz The Law’s Michael Scofield (3g Tiz The Law x Cozze Up Lady, by Cozzene) at Southwell on Saturday with an eye catching performance.
Making his debut going a mile on the synthetic surface, Michael Scofield went to the front immediately to set the pace. Relaxing up front under a steady pace, it wasn’t until the final quarter that he stepped it up.
The second placed runner made a move late, but couldn’t make it to the winner in time with Michael Scofield winning by 2 ¼ lengths.
Trained by Michael O’Callaghan, Michael Scofield is owned by Rocky Mountain Partnership.
The China Horse Club-bred sophomore is a half-brother to Munnings’ Grade I winning Kimari as one of four winners out of Grade III winner Cozze Up Lady. This is also the family of Group I winner Giant Killing among others.
This is the 29th winner for Tiz The Law, who leads all second crop sires by cumulative graded stakes winners and graded stakes performers. Overall, he has five stakes winners and nine stakes performers in his first crop.
