Fully Subscribed Tiz The Law Wins Gr 3 Comely

Tiz The Law Filly Much the Best in G3 Comely

It was another impressive graded stakes victory for Fully Subscribed (3f Tiz The Law x Sweetbaby, by Candy Ride) on Sunday when she won the Gr.3 Comely S. by four lengths.

Breaking well in the 1 1/8-mile dirt race, the Tiz The Law filly was a few paths off the rail as she closely followed the leader for much of the race. When they approached the quarter pole, she showed why she went off as the race favorite when taking command.

Flavien Prat asked her for more in the stretch when coming into it a few paths wide and Fully Subscribed responded to pull away by four lengths in the end.

Trained by Chad Brown for Klaravich Stables, the Payson Stud-bred has won three of her five starts and finished in the top three in her two other starts.

Purchased last year for $300,000, Fully Subscribed is the first foal out of three-time winner Sweetbaby. That mare is one of seven winners from nine to race out of the great Rutherienne whose 11 wins were led by a victory in the Gr.1 Del Mar Oaks.

Rutherienne is out of Ruthian, whose other foals include a Gr. 3 winner and three stakes performers.

Sweetbaby returned to Tiz The Law and foaled a colt this year.

Standing for $40,000 in 2026, Tiz The Law leads all second crop sires by percentage of graded stakes performers this year at 6.71% with eight stakes winners and 18 stakes performers overall.
