Corniche Yearlings on Offer at Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Sale
Less than a week after having a colt sell for $600,000, champion Corniche sends seven through the ring at the Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Sale on August 10 and 11.
His second through the ring is Hip 462, a filly out of a half-sister to dual Grade I winner Creator offered by Ballysax Bloodstock.
Her dam is Tiznow daughter Balandra Bay, whose two to race are both winners and who saw this filly sell at Keeneland January earlier this year. Bred by Chesapeake Farm, Three Times a Charm, and Bullet Stable, this filly’s second dam is three-time champion Morena. Morena proved to be a top-level broodmare in addition to race mare. Creator led the charge, but overall the mare had six winners from six to race to follow in her dam’s footsteps with that mare producing seven winners from seven to race.
Morena is a half-sister to Group III winner and Group I-placed La Querella, who produced Group III winner La Consulta, and two other stakes producers.
A half-brother to stakes winner Too Boss sells as Hip 473 with Four Star Sales.
Bred by Michael Joseph Cascio, this colt is also a half-sister to the placed Kay Tee Gal as the two runners out of winner Bossy Posse. Bossy Posse herself has a stakes winning sibling in two-time stakes winning half-brother Marengo Road. Each of this colt’s first eight dams have produced at least one stakes performer with seven of them having stakes winners.
His page includes the dual stakes winner Search For Luv, who won 21 races, and stakes winner The World Owes Me alongside the other two stakes winners named.
A half-brother to two stakes performers sells as Hip 478 with Thorndale Farm on behalf of breeders Eaton and Thorne.
The colt out of winning Pulpit mare Cabales is a half-brother to five winners from six to race, led by Grade II winner Runaway and stakes placed Si Si Tequila. Si Si Tequila also brings an update to the page after her runner Martingale recently won. Two of this yearling’s half-siblings also won after the catalog was released when Tiote became Cabales’s fifth winner and Cravensworth added another win to his record.
Cabales is one of four winners under her stakes winning dam Mudslinger with two of those producing stakes performers in Mastercraftsman’s stakes placed La Fidelisima and Scat Daddy’s stakes placed Wireless Future. Mares in this family are full of producing ability with the 19 stakes performers named including Grade I winner High Fly and Grade II winners Temple, Monkey Puzzle, and Brennero.
Taylor Made consigns Hip 495, a colt out of the stakes winning Coup de Coeur bred by Barry Ostrager.
This colt is a half-brother to five winners with Coup de Coeur’s Grade II-placed daughter Animosity leading the charge. That mare is also a producer as the dam of recent winner Turronera. Coup de Coeur isn’t the only stakes producer out of Bois d’Amour with that mare’s half-sister producing Grade III winner Valdermoro and another half-sister the granddam of Big Hug.
Big Hug provided an update to the page after the catalog was released when she won her 15th race after repeating in the R.K. Red Smith Handicap. She is also dual Grade III-placed in the U.S.
Coup de Coeur is a granddaughter of Grade I winner Lovlier Linda, who produced six stakes performers, led by Grade III winner Old Trieste, Group III winner Perigee Moon, and stakes winners Penny’s Fortune and Stormica. This sale starts at 7p.m. on Sunday and noon on Monday with both sessions streamed by Fasig-Tipton. You can find all of Corniche’s offerings here.
