Practical Joke Filly On Top Again at Remington
The C.R. Trout owned, trained, and bred Letta’s Legacy (4f Practical Joke x Sundayville Break, by Sunday Break) added a third stakes victory to her record on Friday night in the Oklahoma Classics Distaff Sprint Handicap.
Looking to win her fifth race in her last seven starts, Letta’s Legacy shot out of the gate from her inside post position and quickly entered a duel for the lead, keeping her head in front throughout the early running. While she left that runner behind in the turn, another took her on in the stretch, but Letta’s Legacy refused to give in.
Digging deep, Letta’s Legacy held off that stretch challenger to win by a head when they hit the line.
She had proven to be a strong racehorse for Trout with seven wins and 7 other top three finishes in 16 starts, including five wins in seven 2025 starts for $2765,865 in career earnings.
Letta’s Legacy is a second generation homebred for her breeder, who also owned and raced her granddam. Her stakes placed dam Sundayville Break has been a very successful broodmare for Trout as the dam of Munnings’ dual stakes winner Bring It On Dude and stakes winners Sunday Flashback and Sunday Night Miss. Her runners also include the stakes placed Slew Hunter from her seven winners from seven to race.
Sundayville Break is one of five stakes performers out of her own dam, whose group was led by the Grade I winning Shotgun Gulch.
It has been another successful month for Practical Joke, whose Coringa also won the Maryland Millions Turf Stakes last Saturday to give him two stakes winners in six days.
