Prowess Another Juvenile Winner for Tiz The Law

It was another juvenile winner for Tiz The Law on Thursday when Prowess (2f Tiz The Law x Sweet August Lady, by City Zip) won an Ellis Park Maiden Special Weight.

Kicking off her career going 5 ½ furlongs on the dirt, Prowess was happy to start her career with a fight when dueling on the lead nearly from the gate. Cutting the corner into the stretch, she had her head in front and kept her longtime rival at bay to the line.

The flashy filly won by a neck to take owner-breeder Dream Big Racing and trainer Kenny McPeek to the winner’s circle.

Prowess is a half-sister to the stakes placed Indy Label and out of four-time winner Sweet August Lady. That mare is a half-sister to the dam of multiple stakes winner Community Leader and out of a half-sister to dual Grade I winner Hollywood Story. Hollywood Story produced Grade I winner Honor A.P. and stakes winner Miss Hollywood.

This is the second 2-year-old winner of the year for Tiz The Law, whose daughter Tiz In Sight was an impressive winner last week at Churchill Downs.
