Queen’s Chocolat Gives Tiz The Law Japanese Double
For the second time in as many days, Tiz The Law registered a Japanese winner when Queen’s Chocolat (3f Tiz The Law x Ahh Chocolate, by Candy Ride) broke her maiden at Chukyo.
Racing over 1 1/8 miles on the same track Tiz The Law’s first Japanese winner had won on the day before, Queen’s Chocolat was happy to race in midpack on the rail soon out of the gate. She stayed in that position until the stretch run when she was angled out to come outside all of those in front of her to challenge for the lead.
There wasn’t much of a challenge for the filly, who rolled on by and easily took over under Mirco Demuro without being asked for much. Eased down near the line, she won by four lengths in her second start.
Placing third on debut, the Koichi Shintani trainee is owned by Keiai Stallion Co and was bred by Queens Ranch.
Queen’s Chocolat’s dam Ahh Chocolate was a Grade II winner who was purchased carrying Queen’s Chocolat for $300,000. The mare has three winners from four to race. She is one of three stakes performers for her own dam alongside the Grade III placed duo of Shiloh’s Mistress and Andesite.
This is also the family of multiple graded stakes winner and Grade I placed Rahystrada and Mendelssohn’s stakes winning Amanda’s Folly.
Tiz The Law is now a perfect two-for-two on winners from runners in Japan.
