Six On Offer For Golden Pal at Fasig February

Golden Pal sees more yearlings from his highly popular first crop go through the ring on Monday with six on offer at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale.

The first yearling by the dual Breeders’ Cup winner is Hip 29 offered by Mulholland Springs out of Grade III-placed Magisterium.

Bred by MBR, the colt is the second out of his dam, who is a half-sister to the Group III winning Comedy. This is also the family of European Horse of the Year Barathea and Group I winner Gossamer with stakes performers under three of his first five dams.

Bred by her consignor with Arika Meeuse, the filly’s half-brother Lucky Score’s six winners include two graded stakes victories and a Grade I placing while her half-sister Miss Matzoball is a stakes winner. In all, Miss Matzo is the dam of eight winners from eight to race. Her half-sister Madam Giry is also a stakes winner with six stakes wins among her nine victories overall.

Her granddam produced two stakes winners with the duo including multiple Grade III winner High Stakes Player and her stakes winning daughter Mather Miss also producing Grade III winner Arch Mistress. A half-sister to Uncle Mo’s multiple stakes winning King For a Day is the dam of Hip 197, a filly offered by Vinery Sales.

This is the third foal out of Orb mare Angelic Spirit, whose siblings also include the stakes winning Ima Jersey Girl and Feel That Fire. Ima Jersey Girl produced the stakes placed Gorgeous Girl with Feel That Fire producing three-time Grade I winner Mind Control and Grade I placed Goddess of Fire. Another one of that mare’s daughters received an update when her daughter Gangbusters saw Mendelssohn son Wendelssohn place second in the Byerley Turk Overnight.
