So There She Was Newest Munnings Stakes Winner

Munnings’ Grade I-placed So There She Was (3f Munnings x Risk Premium, by Take Charge Indy) registered her first stakes victory on Sunday with a Remington Park Oaks victory.

Shipping to Remington Park for the 1 1/16-mile dirt race, the filly went off as the second choice and quickly proved why. She dueled for the lead with the favorite for much of the early running of the race to keep the leader honest throughout.

So There She Was took complete control in the final furlong and pulled away to a 2 ¾ length victory.

Trained by Doug O’Neill for Mark Davis and Great Friends Stables, So There She Was has won two races and placed four other times – including in each of her four stakes runs – for $282,620 in earnings.

The Grantley Acres-bred filly is one of three winners from three runners out of Risk Premium. That mare is a half-sister to Grade II winner Iliad and multiple Grade III winner Melmich. Grade II-placed Swoon River is also in the family.

This is the sixth stakes winner of the year for Munnings, who has also registered 23 stakes performers in 2025.
