Tiz The Law Filly Off to Perfect Start at Churchill Downs

Tiz The Law 2-year-old Tiz In Sight (2f Tiz The Law x Hindsight, by Pioneerof the Nile) showed there is plenty of excitement to come from the stallion’s second crop on Thursday with a Churchill Downs Maiden Special Weight victory.

The Mark Casse trainee kicked off her career going five furlongs when breaking from the inside post. Hustled out of the gate, she had the early lead before dropping back to race just behind the leaders in her rail position.

Looking for a hole between those runners turning into the stretch, she was instead angled to the outside and spent the late stages of the stretch running them down. She got there just in time to win by a neck.

Bred by G. Watts Humphrey and Victoria Oliver, she is raced by Gary Barber and Peter Deutsch. This is the first foal out of the winning Pioneerof the Nile mare Hindsight, who is a half-sister to stakes winner and Grade II-placed Fibber.

They are out of Grade III winner Devious Intent, who is one of four stakes performers out of her own dam.

Hindsight foaled a colt by Golden Pal on March 22 this year.

Tiz The Law is the sire of six stakes winners and 10 stakes performers in his first crop alone with 42 winners overall.
