Tiz The Law Filly Romps in Our Dear Peggy
Peachtree Stable homebred Spirit Doll (2f Tiz the Law x Pakhet, by Cairo Prince) took her record to two wins in three starts on Saturday with a maiden stakes victory in the Our Dear Peggy Stakes.
Making her first start outside Saratoga in this one-mile turf race at Gulfstream, she settled in right behind the leader from the start. She tracked the pace throughout the early and mid-stages of the race before given her cue going into the far turn.
Angled a few paths wide for her run, she had the lead in upper stretch and romped home from there to prove much the best with a 6 ½ length victory.
Trained by Saffie Joseph Jr., the filly is now a winner on dirt and turf after winning on the Saratoga dirt on debut.
Spirit Doll is one of two winners from two to race out of the Gr.2 placed Pakhet. That mare is a granddaughter of stakes winner and Gr.1 placed Firecroft with Pakhet a fifth-generation stakes producer with this win.
Other stakes winners one the page include champion Rose Secret, Gr.1 winner Amadeus Wolf, and Gr.2 winner Zanjero among many others.
Tiz The Law is the sire of two juvenile stakes winners and seven juvenile stakes performers from his second crop with two of those placed at the Gr.1 level.
