Tiz The Law Juveniles Make Splash at OBS March

Tiz The Law’s first crop of juveniles impressed on the track last year and buyers were eager to buy his second crop at this week’s OBS March 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale.

Tiz The Law’s Hip 498 will be headed to Japan after purchased by Hideyuki Mori for $610,000 from Paul Sharp.

Bred by William Harigan, Mike Pietrangelo, and Sean Downes out of winning First Samurai mare Saucy Symphony, the colt is a half-brother to Practical Joke’s three-time winner Vamos Viejo. Saucy Symphony is out of the stakes winning Celtic Chant, who is also the dam of Grade III-placed Irish Mischief.

This page is deep throughout the colt’s dams with others named including Grade I winners Vicar and Astronomer Royal and champion Let’sgoforit.

Three Amigos were the buyer of a $550,000 filly offered by Wavertree Stables out of Lucky Song, the third most expensive filly of the second session. Breezing in :9.4 at last week’s Under Tack Show alongside Tiz The Law’s most expensive offering, the filly bred by Brittany Terlep and IR Bloodstock was also a $200,000 yearling.

She is a half-sister to two winners from three to race out of her Unbridled’s Song dam, who is a half-sister to six winners herself. Lucky Song is out of the Grade III winning More Than Ready mare Caminadora, who was a second generation stakes winner after her stakes winning dam Stoneway. In all, the filly’s first four dams produced 20 winners.

Donato Lanni purchased Tiz The Law’s :21.3 breezing filly from Eddie Woods for $375,000 on behalf of Frank Fletcher.

A half-sister to the stakes winning Mihos among the six winners from six to race out of Feline Flatline, the filly was bred by Paget Bloodstock and Carhue Investments. Feline Flatline is a half-sister to the Grade I winning Sharla Rae and to the dam of stakes performers American Meyhem and Heathers Grey with that duo’s sister producing the stakes winning Welcome Back. Feline Flatline’s multiple Grade III-placed dam Jinny’s Gold is a half-sister to two stakes winners from the eight to race out of Nijinsky Dancer.

Rounding out Tiz The Law’s $300,000+ group was the West Point Thoroughbreds-purchased colt out of Deep Trouble.

Consigned by S G V Thoroughbreds, the Florida bred hailing from Nancy Stone’s breeding program is a half-brother to three winners from three to run out of his Into Mischief dam. That mare is a daughter of the stakes placed Submerge, whose siblings include dual Grade I winner Artemis Agrotera and stakes placed Time Squared. Artemis Agrotera produced stakes winning Chestertown with another sister producing the stakes placed Color Me Pretty.

Also included on this page are Grade I winner Stephen Got Even and Grade I placed Immerse with 13 stakes performers named overall. Tiz The Law has already found success with his first sophomores this year with three stakes performers ranking him fifth among all second crop sires in 2025.
