€285,000 Gleneagles Colt Shines At Goffs November Foal Sale

A well-related colt by Gleneagles stood out at the Goffs November Foal Sale this week when selling to Yeomanstown Stud for €285,000.

Consigned by Summerhill Stables, the March-born bay is a half-brother to this year’s Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes scorer Lifeplan and out of the Listed-placed A Taad Moody.

Joey Lyons (pictured above) of Summerhill Stables said: “He showed himself brilliantly up here, he never missed a beat. He did more than 100 shows on Monday, more than 100 shows on Tuesday and more than 50 shows this morning – and every time he came out bouncing, raring to go.

“Then he got up to the ring and announced himself with a big roar before strutting his stuff. I’m delighted he’s gone to Yeomanstown Stud, as they’re unbelievable judges and a great farm.

“It’s been class having my mum and dad here, and being surrounded by my best friends. Everyone was asking how I felt but I don’t know, all I could hear was my heart beating out of my chest!”

It has been an excellent week for Gleneagles as his triple Group 1-winning son Calandagan was crowned Cartier Horse of the Year on Wednesday evening.
