Churchill Filly Makes Promising Winning Debut

Lodge (3f Churchill - Emerald Isle, by Exceed And Excel) justified favouritism when running out an eye-catching winner on debut at Ffos Las on Wednesday.

The Brian Meehan-trained filly was positioned prominently under Billy Loughnane and travelled smoothly before taking up the lead a furlong out. Despite showing signs of greenness, the three-year-old pulled clear for a comfortable two-and-a-half-length success in the six-furlong fillies' maiden.

Lodge was bred by Robert Tierney and Andrew Bondarenko.
