Daughter Of Starspangledbanner Captures First Listed Win

Star Of Life (2f Starspangledbanner - Star Spirit, by Deep Impact) claimed her first black-type success in the Listed Criterium Femminile on Sunday.

The Stefano Botti-trained two-year-old had finished fourth in two starts for Michael Bell earlier this year and took another step forward in the Rome contest when striking by an easy two-and-a-half lengths.

Star Of Life was continuing Starspangledbanner’s excellent run of form as he was also responsible for Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud runner-up A Boy Named Susie on the same afternoon.

Starspangledbanner’s season has been headed by Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes and Fillies’ Mile heroine Precise, as well as Group 2 Coventry Stakes victor and multiple Group 1 runner-up Gstaad.
