Gleneagles Colt Records Back-To-Back Stakes

Sunday saw Arrow Eagle (4c Gleneagles – Absolutly Me, by Anabaa Blue) gain his second consecutive black-type win in the Group 3 Prix d’Hedouville at Longchamp.

Stakes-placed last season, Jean-Claude Rouget’s progressive colt made a successful return in January and followed up with a three-and-a-half length Listed win the following month. Stepping up to a mile and a half on his latest start, Mrs Waltraut Spanner’s homebred chased the leaders under Cristian Demuro and was asked to challenge two and a half furlongs from home.

The son of Gleneagles ran on to lead inside the final furlong and went on to beat Listed winner Sibayan by a length, with another three parts of a length back to multiple Group winner Sevenna’s Knight (Camelot) in third.
