Gleneagles Colt Wins Listed Prize In Good Style
Arrow Eagle (4c Gleneagles – Absolutly Me, by Anabaa Blue) made it two from two this term when running out a commanding winner of a Listed contest at Cagnes-Sur-Mer on Sunday.
Listed-placed at the end of last season, Jean-Claude Rouget’s progressive charge made a smart return to action in a Class 2 over course and distance last month. He was sent off favourite of the 13-runner field under Cristian Demuro, who appeared full of confidence leading on the turn for home. Pushed along to assert, he ran on strongly to score by three and a half lengths, with another head back to Lazzaro (Mastercraftsman) in third.
Owned and bred by Mrs Waltraut Spanner, Arrow Eagle becomes a 41st individual Stakes winner by Gleneagles.
