Juvenile Gleneagles Filly Lands Maiden Win
Morven (2f Gleneagles - Tajamhor, by Candy Ride) picked up the first win of her career when striking at Haydock on Saturday.
The Ralph Beckett-trained filly had finished third on debut at Salisbury earlier this month and built on that effort with a straightforward score on her second start.
Ridden by Hector Crouch, the daughter of Gleneagles raced in third and made good headway from three furlongs out before taking up the lead a furlong from home. She duly pulled clear by a length-and-three quarters.
Gleneagles has enjoyed another fine season with King George and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud victor Calandagan among his leading performers.
Morven was bred by Kildaragh Stud.
