Noli Timere A Smart Maiden Winner For Starspangledbanner At Naas
Noli Timere (3f Starspangledbanner - Mahabba, by Galileo) built on her promising last-time-out effort to pull three lengths clear of her rivals at Naas on Monday.
Second on her last start at the Curragh, the three-year-old was sent off favourite to go one better and readily obliged under Colin Keane. Noli Timere tracked the leaders and, after waiting for room two furlongs out, quickened up to put the race to bed.
Trainer Michael O'Callaghan said: “We were thinking Noli Timere maybe wanted a mile and a quarter so, dropping back in trip, we stuck cheekpieces on her. The ground is as quick as she would like and Colin (Keane) said she would improve for slower ground. We may go hunting a bit of black type now.”
The filly was bred by Mrs Erika Gilliar.
