Son Of Churchill Draws Clear To Second Stakes Success
Trustyourinstinct (5g Churchill – Gussy Goose, by Danehill Dancer) proved a class above his rivals in Saturday’s Listed Orby Stakes at the Curragh.
Joseph O’Brien’s charge proved progressive last season, winning a Group 3 and placing in three group races. Placed in the Group 2 Mooresbridge Stakes last time out, he was sent off favourite at the Irish Guineas fixture, where he raced in touch with the leaders. Asked to quicken turning for home, he improved to lead approaching the final furlong and was soon in command, staying on strongly to win by four lengths under Dylan Browne McMonagle.
“Trustyourinstinct is a lovely horse, very consistent and loves it here at the Curragh,” Joseph O’Brien said after the race. “He's a home-bred of JP and Noreen's, so they will get an extra kick out of that. He always turns up and runs his race. We've run him internationally a few times and we might look at that again.”
The talented son of Churchill is owned by J.P. McManus and was bred by Noreen McManus.
