Green Triangle (gleneagles) Wins The Irish Stallion Farms Ebf Gowran

Son Of Gleneagles Lands Valuable Prize

Talented three-year-old Green Triangle (3g Gleneagles – Whimsical Dream, by Oasis Dream) returned to winning ways in the valuable Irish Stallion Farms EBF Gowran Classic worth €200,000.

Joseph O’Brien’s charge won his maiden impressively as a juvenile before gaining blacktype and placed on his first two starts this season. Partnered by Ronan Whelan on Monday, the bay raced towards the back of the field and began to make good headway from over two furlongs out. Leading a furlong from home, he kept on well to deny Group-placed stablemate And So To Bed by a head, the pair finishing three lengths clear of the third.

“It was a great result,” said O’Brien after training the first four home. “It’s great prize-money and we obviously always try and target those races.

“I’m particularly happy for Ronan because he got injured off my filly in the Curragh, he got a cut on the back of his head, and today is his first day back riding.”

Owned by Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, the son of Gleneagles was bred by Mark Hanly and Sally Ann Grassick.
