Emphatic Maiden Win For Order Of St George Gelding
Ace Brannigan (5g Order Of St George - Dancingwithbubbles, by Supreme Leader) claimed a first success over hurdles when powering to victory at Tipperary on Monday.
Another exciting performer for his sire, the five-year-old had finished a neck second in his sole point-to-point at Ballindenisk in December when trained by Eamonn Doyle.
Now in the care of Henry de Bromhead, Ace Brannigan was sent off the even-money favourite to make a winning debut over hurdles and he duly came home by six and a half lengths under Darragh O'Keeffe.
O’Keeffe said: “We liked him at home and he had schooled well. He had run well in a point-to-point and he was a bit unlucky in a bumper in Clonmel [when carried out].
“He had been doing everything nice at home and I think he’ll come on plenty from the experience. I was delighted with him.
“The ground is lovely out there and he handled it well, and he picked up well again up the straight.”
Ace Brannigan was bred by Corrib Racing.
