Getaway Mare Strides Clear On Rules Debut
The well-related Good Girl Kathleen (5m Getaway – Molly’s Mate, by Goldmark) proved a class above her rivals in the mares’ bumper at Limerick on Thursday.
Placed in two point-to-points for Colin Bowe, the daughter of Getaway made her rules debut for Emmet Mullins. Racing over two miles and three furlongs, the chesnut was held up by John Gleeson and began to make headway from five furlongs out. Pushed along turning for home, she quickened to lead two furlongs out and ran on well to score by four and three quarter lengths.
Owned by the Lions Mouth Racing Club, Good Girl Kathleen was bred by Minch Bloodstock. The Getaway mare is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Blow Your Wad (Walk In The Park) and smart mare Maughreen (Walk In The Park).
