Order Of St George Gelding Claims First Win Over Hurdles

Ice In The Veins (5g Order Of St George - She Ranks Me, by Golan) gained a first win over hurdles when justifying short odds at Warwick on Tuesday.

The Dan Skelton-trained gelding had won a bumper at Worcester in May and was getting off the mark over flights at the third try. Ice In The Veins had finished second on his first attempt back at Warwick in June.

Ridden by Harry Skelton, the son of Order Of St George led from the start and quickened away from his rivals after the final flight to win by ten lengths.

The Coolmara Stables-bred Ice In The Veins was continuing a good run of form for his sire, with other recent winners including Down Royal bumper victor Skerry Hill and impressive Stratford novice hurdle scorer Wandering Ego.
