Order Of St George Gelding Justifies Favouritism in Bumper
The Blue Room (5g Order Of St George – Saintly Lady, by Old Vic) built on three promising runs to gain a deserved win in Thursday’s bumper at Ffos Las.
When previously trained by Michael Kennedy, the €70,000 store finished second on debut in a four-year-old maiden at Dromahane before joining the Olly Murphy yard. Runner-up in a Class 2 at Aintree on rules debut, he finished a close fourth next time out and was sent off favourite on Thursday.
Held up by Sean Bowen, he began to make headway with two furlongs left to race and was ridden a furlong later. Improving to lead inside the final 110 yards, he kept on to beat Not Without Danger (Walk In The Park) by a length and a half.
Owned by Bective Stud and bred by Tom Devereux, The Blue Room hails from the first crop of Order Of St George.
