Order Of St George Gelding Storms To First Win Over Hurdles

Storming George (5g Order Of St George - Nickel, by Presenting) ran out an impressive winner over hurdles when scoring by 12 lengths at Doncaster on Saturday.

The Neil King-trained five-year-old had won a bumper at the same track in January and followed that up with a respectable fifth in Grade 2 company at Aintree in April.

A promising third on his first start over hurdles at Newbury this month, the odds-on Storming George lived up to his name when powering clear under Jack Quinlan.

King said: "He's a seriously nice young horse who's always done everything right. I couldn't be more pleased to see him do it in that way. The form of his Newbury run was boosted on Friday and he's proved he goes on all ground as well.

"That was really impressive and he could be quite special."
