Order Of St George Mare Follows Up On Rules Debut

Ballylicky Bay (5m Order Of St George - Trendy Native, by Overbury) made a winning rules debut on her first start for new connections in Saturday’s bumper at Bangor.

The Order Of St George mare began her career in Ireland with David Murphy, for whom she finished a promising fourth on debut before winning at Dromahane. Subsequently sold to Kevin Pickard, she was partnered by Paul O’Brien on Saturday and raced in mid-division for much of the way. Making headway with over two furlongs left to race, she was ridden approaching the final furlong and kept on well to beat the previously unbeaten favourite by a head.

Bred by Mrs Mary O’Connor, Ballylicky Bay hails from the first crop of Order Of St George.
