Seo Linn (Order of St George) Wins The Grade 2 Mares Bumper At Aintree

Order Of St George Mare Lands Grade 2 At Aintree

Seo Linn (5m Order Of St George – Persian Filly, by Persian Bold) recorded back-to-back black-type wins in the Grade 2 mares’ bumper on the opening day of Aintree’s Grand National Festival.

The Paddy Twomey-trained mare was last seen winning a Listed mares’ bumper in fine style at Cheltenham’s November meeting and was sent off favourite to follow up under Billy Lee. The bay raced prominently throughout and travelled strongly turning for home. Shaken up to assert two furlongs from home, she was ridden out to score by half a length, with another length and three quarters back to the third.

“I think Seo Linn will be a good filly on the Flat,” the winning trainer later reflected. “There's a good staying programme for her there and we'll look at that.

“She seemed to be enjoying herself - we came here hoping she was ready to do her thing, and she was. She's grown up - she was a little bit fractious at Cheltenham, but she's learning and she's going and she's improving.”

Bred by Glashare House Stud, Seo Linn is owned by Mrs A Phelan and Mrs Bridget Beckett. She hails from the exciting first crop of Order Of St George.
