Nevershedatear (Getaway) Wins At Borris House

Smart Newcomer Kicks Off Double For Getaway

Nevershedatear (4m Getaway – Lisdaleen, by Saddlers’ Hall) completed the first leg of a smart Sunday double for in-form sire Getaway when making an impressive debut at Borris House.

The Tom Byrne owned and trained newcomer was one of eight runners to line up for the second division of four-year-old mares’ maiden, where Jack Hendrick partnered the bay to make all. She was travelling well approaching the turn for home and kept on well on the run-in to win by two lengths.

Nevershedatear becomes the third winner by Getaway bred by Stephen Campion out of the mare Lisdaleen.

Getaway’s second maiden winner of the day came at Ballcahane, where Neon Dream (5g Getaway – Keeps Sake, by Old Vic) took the five-year-old geldings maiden under Derek O’Connor.

Sam Curling’s charge was making his second start and having been given a patient ride, led after the second last. The Mrs D Cashman-bred chesnut went on to score by four lengths.
