Flying Trix (wings of eagles) Wins On Debut At Down Royal

Smart Prospect Emerges For Wings Of Eagles

Arthur Moore was full of praise for Flying Trix (4g Wings Of Eagles – Supreme Trix, by Oscar) after he made an impressive debut at Down Royal.

Owned and trained by Moore, the four-year-old was one of ten to line up in Monday’s bumper over two miles and a furlong. Tracking the leaders under Michael Sharpe, the bay began to make headway from three furlongs out and was pushed along to lead a furlong later. Extending his advantage inside the final furlong, he led by four lengths on the line.

“We like him a lot,” Moore later revealed. “He could win on the flat I think, he has a bit of toe. My daughter and son-in-law (Anna and Kevin Ross) bought him as a foal, and we've always liked him.

“He has schooled over hurdles and fences well, beautifully, so he is a good jumper. He will make a beautiful dual-purpose horse in time. He hadn't been away from home and never turned a hair coming here.”

The Wings Of Eagles gelding provides a notable update for his three-year-old brother by Vadamos, who Kevin Ross bought for €29,000 as a foal.
