Son Of Getaway Makes Perfect Start At Kilbeggan
Appy Getaway (5g Getaway - Appy Days, by King’s Theatre) made the perfect start to his career when landing the concluding bumper at Kilbeggan on Saturday.
Ridden by John Gleeson, the Peter Fahey-trained Appy Getaway was placed prominently and came to chase a furlong out before being driven out for a half-length success over Ozark's Walk (by Walk In The Park).
Fahey said: “I think he’s a very nice horse. John came back in and said the tight track wasn’t ideal for him, he’s a big strong horse.
“He’s something to really look forward to, if he's not sold. He’s a right good horse for the future. He probably wants a little over two miles as well. They went a nice gallop today and what I liked about him was that he showed plenty of guts.”
The five-year-old is a homebred for Carmel and Cathal Ennis.
